Day 1 - here we GO.
The Good: I am incredibly excited to start this new journey! I went shopping yesterday with one of my best friend and got everything I could need for the first couple weeks. Can anyone say MEAT and LA CROIX waters? By the end of my day yesterday I was totally exhausted. So much so that wine and skittles were the only fixing. So my last "binge" was at 11:15PM - skittles and wine... and man am I regretting that. HAH.
This morning I woke up with nothing prepped for breakfast since my 31st was filled with friends, family and grocery shopping. I whipped up a pork and egg scramble along with a sweet potato/bell pepper hash. Half a banana on the side since fruit sounded good. Bananas are FILLED with sugar (news to me!) so a half is good for the morning.
For my drink I originally made black espresso with a dash of Whole30 approved almond milk..... took one drink... and dumped it out... I will have to work on that whole coffee thing. My drink was a lime La Croix sparkling water with added lemon juice and mixed frozen berries. YUM YUM.
The Bad: Headache central! See, this is what I did wrong when prepping for the Whole30. I gave up this last month on my health. I ate everything... and when I say that I mean EVERYTHING. Pizza, cake, cookies, fast food, McDonalds...... like too much of it. Because of this, I almost crashed and burned into January 1st. My face is broken out, body is bloated and sore, I gained about 5lbs since September and my skinny jeans don't fit.....
BUT, the beauty of this, is I have recognized that I need to stop and change my life. When eating breakfast, the only thing going through my mind was "Where is the ketchup???" "Where is the buttered toast??" "Where is my glass of orange juice?"
I had no idea how much I had incorporated those in until my Meal 1 this morning. This is going to be a rough road.
_________
For the rest of the day - I have prepped a beef roast with sweet potatoes, celery and carrots in the crock pot. Hoping this meal will be spread for a couple days.... Haha and just as I was typing this, I thought... MMMM BEEF SAMMICH.... no bread MEGAN. no BREAD. :(
I am hoping to post more this week than just once a day - since I have so much more to update on and share - the goods and bads, TOP 5 Excited/Nervous, workout plan, Basics of Whole30 rules, why now?
So STAY TUNED. more to come.
oh and for those of you who were wondering what I had for my last SPLURGE meal, my Wednesday night ended here... and it was worth it.
Cheers!
